Job description

Roles Details Head of Marketing We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Marketing who is passionate about both enterprise customers and developers and thrives in a startup environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our product marketing and demand-gen initiatives to drive adoption and growth. This is a senior, individual contributor role with the potential to grow into a management position as we scale. Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Sales and Product to develop highly targeted sales-facing demand generation and motions for mid- to large enterprises.
  • Develop content to support marketing campaigns and sales initiatives across all stages of the sales funnel.
  • Work with our strategic partners on joint initiatives and programs.
  • Drive the creation of compelling content for our website, customer and user stories, blog posts, email campaigns, marketing collateral, and whitepapers, recognizing we have two different audiences (developers and business leaders).
  • Evangelize the real-world solutions, business benefits, and technical value created using Squid’s unique technology and capabilities.
  • Work closely with our Founders, Product, and Design teams to showcase our expertise and build our brand recognition, positioning, and messaging across our website, booths, and other assets.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the market, customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape. Utilize these market insights to drive product positioning and differentiation strategies.
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in generative AI applications and automations for the enterprise as well as modern application development products and technologies.
  • Drive our event participation and acquisition funnel strategies, including participating in industry events, conferences, and engaging analysts, and represent the company as a thought leader.
  • Lead the creation of webinars and attend events, driving outbound motions for business executives related to thought leadership around modernization and GenAI applications in enterprises.
  • Optimize SEO, paid placement, and other outreach efforts, including with PR firms. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and improve ROI.
  • Apply instrumentation tooling and systems on our website and product to measure engagement and run experiments.
  • Define key metrics, track performance, and provide regular reporting on the success of product growth initiatives.
  • Continuously gather feedback, insights, and success stories to inform product improvements and marketing strategies. Be the "voice of the customer/developer" and use these insights to influence product development and go-to-market decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Proven B2B experience in both product and demand-gen marketing for mid- to large enterprises in the developer, AI or data space including PaaS, and/or SaaS industries.
  • Strong understanding of both enterprise-sales and product-led growth strategies and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of both enterprise business and developer needs and decision-making processes.
  • Current or previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong leadership skills paired with a “get things done” attitude to take initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with developer communities, and the development technology ecosystem for full stack and TypeScript/JS developers.
  • Education background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
