Job summary

Ultra Machining Company in Monticello, MN seeks a Director of Manufacturing Technology to own the long-term roadmap for production equipment, facilities, and automation. This role leads Managers and Team Leads across Facilities & Maintenance, Project Management, Automation, and Applications Engineering to scale capabilities for growth.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing/engineering, strong capital planning skills, and experience with ERP systems, ISO/regulatory standards, and safety

Qualifications

• Experience leading managers and multiple functions.
• Strong track record in capital equipment planning and multi-machine installs.
• Knowledge of ISO/Regulatory standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, RoHS, REACH, ITAR).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of managers and team leads; set expectations and governance.
• Own long-term equipment, facility, and automation roadmap; ensure timely capacity expansion.
• Develop maintenance programs to ensure reliability and uptime of equipment.
• Set automation strategy and tooling standards; lead cross-functional automation initiatives.
• Own risk matrix for production equipment and plan replacement timelines.
• Collaborate across departments to integrate equipment and technology roadmaps into business strategy.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and hold teams accountable for safety culture.
