Job summary

Ultra Machining Company (UMC) in Monticello, MN, seeks a Director of Manufacturing Technology to own the long‑term roadmap for production equipment, facilities, and automation. You will lead managers and team leads across Facilities & Maintenance, Project Management, Automation, and Applications Engineering to ensure capacity, uptime, and reliability.

Responsibilities include capital planning, risk management, safety leadership, and cross‑functional strategy integration as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering; 10+ years in Manufacturing/Engineering; 3+ years managing people leaders; experience with capital equipment planning and multi-machine install programs; facilities, maintenance, and automation leadership; ERP systems experience; knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, RoHS, REACH, ITAR, CUI, UCNI.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of managers and team leads; set expectations, governance, and performance standards.
• Oversee long-term equipment, facility, and automation roadmaps; ensure capacity and uptime.
• Own capital planning, project execution, and ROI-based investments.
• Advance safety culture and cross-functional collaboration across departments.
