Job summary

Hyliion Holdings Corp. is seeking a Senior Manager, Linear Electric Machines Principal to lead the LEM engineering team in Cedar Park, TX, guiding electromagnetic and mechanical design, insulation, testing, and certification across generations.

You will defend a roadmap for higher power density and efficiency while coordinating with R&D in Cincinnati and production partners. Strong leadership and hands‑on expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 12+ years designing, developing, and releasing electric motors or generators with PM machines.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience with linear machines and high‑voltage, inverter‑fed systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design authority for KARNO LEM across lifecycle and generations.
• Lead, hire, and develop a team of engineers; set priorities and reviews.
• Own electromagnetic and mechanical design, including topology, magnets, and cooling.
• Own test strategy, qualification, and life testing; ensure certification readiness.
• Lead DFMEA/PFMEA and supplier qualification; drive cost reduction and quality.
