Job summary

Instacart is expanding its Legal department and seeks a senior leader to own legal operations, strategy, and AI enablement. You will shape infrastructure, tooling, and team capabilities to accelerate contracting, governance, and partnerships across the organization.

The role focuses on delivering AI-enabled workflows, scalable processes, and measurable KPIs. You will collaborate with procurement, accounting, HR, sales, IT, and engineering to sustain growth and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in legal operations, strategy and/or related field with ownership of a program and 3+ years of people management.
• Experience leading at least two tech implementations with deep system integrations and AI tooling ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build and run a high-performing legal operations team with clear direction and metrics.
• Launch an AI enablement program; evaluate, deploy and embed AI tools into attorney workflows.
• Lead Go-To-Market, CPQ implementations, and CLM workflows for new formats and retailer partnerships.
• Improve contract lifecycle management systems and cross-system integrations across departments.
• Establish governance for outside counsel, billing, e-billing, and spend reporting.
• Develop knowledge management and KPI dashboards for leadership visibility.
