Job summary

DRB Homes in Dallas Addison, TX is seeking a senior leader to plan and direct division land development, including acquisitions, planning, entitlement and development. You will maintain communications with public agencies, utilities, and staff while leading a land development team.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and substantial experience in land development within homebuilding, with strong budgeting, negotiation and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and minimum 7 years experience within the homebuilding industry with concentration in Land & Entitlement OR equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
• Exposure to residential homebuilding or land development environment is required

Responsibilities

• Oversees the land development function, strategic objectives and designs methodology to achieve Company goals
• Develops the annual Land department budgets and schedules
• Provides leadership, direction and management of department functions, policies and procedures
• Lends leadership to the division by building, developing, and managing a land development team
• Establishes professional relationships with inspectors and officials to maximize productivity of development sites
• Prepare bid packages and negotiate land development contracts for the region
• Inspect development sites to ensure progress according to plan and schedule
• Manage development costs and ensure costs stay within budget constraints
• Assist with securing bonds and permits and follow up on bond reductions
• Coordinate resolution of land development issues affecting house construction
