Job summary

Veracyte in San Diego is seeking a Sr. Director, Lab Pipelines & LIMS to lead strategy, development, and operations of critical software powering diagnostic workflows. You will oversee LIMS and pipelines teams, shaping platform direction and driving cross-functional collaboration to deliver patient‑impacting solutions.

You will manage end-to-end lab workflows, align with regulatory requirements, and build scalable, secure systems while fostering leadership and a culture of accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with leadership of multiple teams or organizations.
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise systems in regulated environments such as healthcare.
• Direct experience with LIMS platforms and secondary analysis pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, workflow orchestration, and distributed systems.
• Experience in regulated environments (CLIA, CAP, FDA or equivalent) with quality/compliance focus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and deliver cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of developing leaders and high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow multiple engineering teams including LIMS and pipelines teams.
• Define and execute the technical and product strategy for laboratory systems.
• Oversee development of pipelines transforming raw data into analysis-ready outputs.
• Partner with lab ops, bioinformatics, product, quality and regulatory teams.
• Drive scalable, secure systems for end-to-end lab workflows.
• Ensure compliance and data integrity in regulated environments.
• Guide technical direction balancing speed, scalability and sustainability.
• Establish software development and deployment processes in regulated contexts.
• Manage roadmaps, resources, and execution across teams.
