Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Head of Professional Practices within Internal Audit to lead the QAIP, ensure adherence to IIA Global Standards, and drive continuous improvement across the department.

This role partners with the Director of Internal Audit and management, overseeing training, reporting to the Audit Committee, and maintaining audit policies and procedures while upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required.
• CIA certification is required.
• Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities are essential.
• Thorough understanding of internal audit standards, best practices, and regulatory guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over the QAIP and ensure compliance with IIA Global Standards and regulatory guidance.
• Manage Internal Quality Assessment Review and outsourced External Quality Assessment Review.
• Maintain Audit Manual and department policies; update as required.
• Provide guidance on Internal Audit methodology and training for the team.
• Support annual risk assessment and audit planning processes.
• Oversee the department's reporting to the Audit Committee with high-quality documentation.
• Monitor remediation tracking and root cause analysis.
• Ensure system administration/support for audit workpapers in line with standards.
• Stay current on emerging risks and regulatory changes; communicate with leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with department personnel and stakeholders.

Education
