Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI), through its Community Bank, N.A., seeks a Head of Professional Practices to lead the Internal Audit QAIP and ensure alignment with IIA Global Standards and regulatory guidance.

This person will shape methodology, policy, and continuous improvement across the department. Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit, you will mentor staff, coordinate risk assessments, manage training, and partner with management to drive high-quality audits while upholding

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field and CIA required.
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ten or more years of progressive financial, operational and compliance audit experience in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over the QAIP to include Internal Audit standards, methodology and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Execute Internal Quality Assessment Review and manage outsourcing of External Quality Assessment Review per IIA standards.
• Maintain Internal Audit policies and updates (Audit Manual).
• Guide Internal Audit methodology and support annual risk assessment and audit planning.
• Manage the department's training program for high performing staff.
• Prepare Department reporting to the Audit Committee with high-quality documentation.
• Monitor issues remediation and reporting; support root cause analysis.
• Oversee audit program reviews, ensuring compliance with policy and regulatory guidance.
• Provide system administration/support for audit workpapers.
• Monitor KPIs and KRIs; stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends.
