Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a Head of Professional Practices within Internal Audit for its Community Bank, N.A. unit in Upstate New York. This senior role leads the QAIP, maintains audit policies, and ensures adherence to IIA standards and regulatory guidance.

The successful candidate will drive process improvements, mentor staff, and partner with management to strengthen controls and reporting across the bank’s audit program.

Qualifications

• CIA certification required.
• Ten plus years of progressive audit experience in financial services.
• Knowledge of IIA Global Standards and regulatory guidance.
• Ability to lead professional practices and QAIP.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership over QAIP including standards and continuous improvement.
• Manage External Quality Assessment Review per IIA standards and regulators.
• Maintain Audit Manual and internal policies; update as needed.
• Guide Internal Audit methodology and risk assessment processes.
• Oversee training program and department reporting to Audit Committee.
• Monitor remediation of issues and drive process improvements.
