Job summary

Subway is seeking a Senior Manager – Insights Engineering to oversee the design, development, and delivery of analytics apps that empower franchisees, operators, and corporate teams. You will lead a team building React JS dashboards and React Native mobile apps on top of Subway's data platform and APIs, partnering with Data Engineering, UX, and business stakeholders.

You'll own the front‑end architecture, drive releases, ensure security and performance, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• Production web and mobile applications experience, preferably data‑heavy or dashboard‑centric.
• Strong data visualization and charting library skills.
• Experience consuming analytics data via APIs and cloud warehouses.
• Experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs including auth and caching.
• Solid testing, CI/CD, performance optimization, and security fundamentals.
• Ability to bridge technical and business needs with strong leadership and stakeholder management.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field; 8–10 years of software engineering; 2–4 years leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering roadmap for analytics apps: React JS dashboards and React Native mobile apps; translate priorities into releases; drive front‑end architecture and a reusable design system.
• Lead front‑end and full‑stack development in React and TypeScript; manage state (Redux, React Query); ensure consistency across web and mobile.
• Own mobile delivery on React Native — iOS/Android builds, store releases, push notifications, offline behavior, device compatibility.
• Collaborate with Data and Platform Engineering on API/data contracts; REST/GraphQL service design, semantic layer, warehouse queries; optimize performance for large data volumes.
• Own engineering quality and delivery practices: CI/CD, automated testing (Jest, RTL, Detox), code reviews, observability, security.
• Lead and coach a team of front‑end, full‑stack, and mobile engineers; hiring, onboarding, and capability building; foster ownership and engineering rigor.
• Define and track product/engineering KPIs with UX/Analytics on instrumentation and improvement.
