Job summary

Subway is seeking a Senior Manager – Insights Engineering to lead the design and delivery of interactive dashboards and mobile experiences used by franchisees and corporate teams. You will guide front-end, full-stack, and mobile engineers building React JS and React Native apps on Subway's data platform.

You will partner with Data, UX, and business stakeholders to ship scalable, production-grade data products with strong UX and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
8–10 years of software engineering experience, with significant depth in front-end and/or mobile development.
2–4 years of experience leading engineering teams or squads.
Strong hands-on experience in React JS and React Native, with modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
Working knowledge of SQL and consuming analytics data through APIs or cloud data warehouses.
Experience designing and integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs with authentication and caching.

Responsibilities

Own the engineering roadmap for analytics applications — React JS web dashboards and React Native mobile apps; translate data product priorities into releases; drive front-end architecture and a reusable design system.
Lead front-end and full-stack development in React and TypeScript, including state management, data visualization libraries, and responsive UI patterns.
Own mobile delivery on React Native — iOS/Android builds, app store release and compliance, push notifications, offline behavior, and OS compatibility testing.
Partner with Data and Platform Engineering on API and data contracts behind the applications — REST/GraphQL design, semantic layer, and caching strategies.
Own engineering quality and delivery practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review standards, observability, and secure handling of data.
Lead and develop a team of engineers; set goals, performance expectations, and delivery standards; support hiring and onboarding.
Define and track product and engineering KPIs with UX and Analytics instrumentation for improvement.
