Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Leader to join our leadership team and drive the strategic direction of information technology across the organization.

You will oversee 24/7 infrastructure operations, guide architecture decisions, manage budgets, and lead cross‑functional teams through complex projects, partnering with procurement and external vendors to deliver value to Petco and its stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5 years in a managerial role.
• Experience across multiple platforms and emerging technologies.
• Strong decision‑making, interpersonal and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with senior management.
• Vendor management and contract experience.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT leadership team, optimize IT investments in the most efficient and effective manner; define strategic IT direction.
• Ensure infrastructure platforms remain operational 24/7 and ensure redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Make architecture decisions to maximize reliability, performance and security; safeguard integrity of infrastructure.
• Prepare and manage department budgets and lead IT teams.
• Oversee infrastructure projects, manage vendor partnerships, and coordinate with Procurement on acquisitions.
• Plan and implement policies to avoid service interruptions and improve operations.
• Establish and maintain vendor partnerships to deliver value and support PETCO’s goals.
