Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Head of Hardware to drive all ESS hardware development, from design through production ramp. You will own subsystem design across mechanical, structural, thermal, reliability, and test domains to ensure safe, scalable hardware for grid-scale storage.

You will report to the CTO and lead a cross-functional team, with responsibility for hardware roadmap, qualification, and certification activities for NFPP chemistry-based storage solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hardware engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead ESS hardware across mechanical, electrical, thermal domains
• Define subsystem hardware requirements for HV/LV distribution and enclosures
• Own reliability: DFMEA, life testing, lifecycle prediction
• Oversee verification testing: mechanical, thermal, HV insulation
• Scale production with Manufacturing Engineering and supply chain
• Ensure compliance with UL 9540, IEC 62933, IEEE 693, NEC 706
• Collaborate with Product, Software, Systems, and Cell teams
• Grow and mentor a multi-disciplinary hardware team
