Job summary

Lodestar is seeking a Head of Business Development to own the pre-solicitation phase of the government pipeline. You will build working-level relationships, shape requirements, pursue partnerships, and evangelize our technology to align with upcoming government solicitations.

You will report to the VP of Commercial and Federal, operating with autonomy in a mission-driven environment focused on space-domain national security.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of business development, capture, or program management in national security.
• Strong network with program analysts and innovation office leads.
• Deep knowledge of the pre-solicitation phase.
• Technical fluency in space domain awareness, autonomous systems, or related areas.
• Familiarity with FAR, PPBE, contracting vehicles, and related processes.
• Operational discipline in pipeline hygiene and CRM data quality.
• Willingness to obtain a Secret clearance; active clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shape requirements before they are written with program offices, contracting shops, and end users.
• Pursue no-cost CRADAs, OTA consortium memberships, SpaceWERX and DIU topics.
• Build and own the pipeline across agencies; track opportunities and maintain CRM.
• Own the working-level relationship layer with program analysts and contracting staff.
• Represent Lodestar at industry days, forums, and engagements; surface actionable intelligence.
• Coordinate inputs and deadlines for proposals; ensure smooth coordination.
