Job summary

Patlytics, the premier end-to-end platform for the patent lifecycle, is seeking a Head of People to run our people function across HR systems, compensation, performance, compliance, and hiring. You will own HRIS administration, compensation cycles, and workforce planning while expanding programs as the company grows.

You'll partner with the CEO on leveling, org design, and sensitive employee matters, and build a hands-on team over time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in People Operations, HR, or Talent, including ownership of function at a high-growth tech company.
• Experience running compensation cycles, leveling decisions, and job architecture in a venture-backed environment.
• Strong command of US employment compliance across multiple states, and ideally international entities.
• Bonus: SOC 2 or similar audit experience; background in AI, legal tech, or another domain requiring specialized talent.

Responsibilities

• Own People Operations infrastructure end to end — HRIS (Rippling) administration, data integrity, and reporting used for headcount and comp decisions.
• Manage compensation framework: leveling, bands by job family, equity guidelines, offers, and annual reviews.
• Oversee the performance program: cadence, calibration, promotions, and manager enablement.
• Ensure employment compliance across jurisdictions, including I-9, wage & hour, leaves, trainings, and SOC 2 evidence.
• Lead global employment operations across US and international entities, with counsel, EORs, and finance on classification and benefits.
• Own recruiting: Ashby administration, interview quality, scorecards, pipeline reporting, and hands-on searches.
• Handle employee relations with judgment and discretion; drive performance management and investigations.
