Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a Principal-level Head of Generative AI & Business Operations to scale its Micro and Emerging Business portfolio, focusing on DAVO, MyLodge, and product-led growth for small and emerging businesses.

The role builds an operating layer with data, automation, AI-enabled workflows, and cross-functional execution across Product, Growth, Operations, Support, Finance, Legal, and GTM teams, enabling faster decisions and scalable growth.

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in business operations, product operations, strategy and operations, or related fields.
Proven ability to design operating systems for high-growth businesses and governance models.
Strong applied AI fluency with hands-on experience using AI tools to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

Build the operating system for the business with weekly cadences and executive updates.
Define a single operating model for goals, ownership, and decision rights across functions.
Create dashboards and surfaces showing acquisition, activation, onboarding, revenue, and churn.
