Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Director of Generative AI to lead the Applied AI organization inside Build, owning the full stack from model strategy to evaluation. You will drive CodeGen and LayoutGen capabilities, design robust evaluation, and connect model development with production feedback at scale.

You will guide a talented team across research and production engineering, working toward high-quality, reliable 3D world creation experiences for creators worldwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of ML/AI experience with 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
• Deep technical grounding across RLHF, model routing/adaptation, code generation, or evaluation science.
• Proven ability to recruit, challenge, and lead scientists and engineers.
• Strong track record building eval frameworks and production-facing AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Own model strategy and routing for Build; select models based on quality, latency, cost, and safety.
• Lead model adaptation across Applied AI: fine-tuning, distillation, synthetic data, and feedback pipelines.
• Advance CodeGen capabilities to understand creator intent and perform complex edits.
• Develop LayoutGen to turn intent into coherent 3D scenes with editing loops.
• Own evaluation as a discipline: benchmarks, metrics, and infrastructure for experiments.
• Ensure tight feedback loops from creator outcomes back into training and releases.
