Job summary

Alpine Home Air is seeking a Director of Logistics, Freight & Network Optimization to own the economics, performance, and risk of our freight network. This senior role shapes a measurable, continuously improving system rather than merely processing shipments.

You will design carrier strategies, lead negotiations, and partner with Warehouse, ERP, Analytics, and Finance to align freight with margins and customer experience. A strong analytics background and AI curiosity are essential.

Qualifications

7+ years in logistics, freight, or network optimization leadership.
Proven ownership of multi-million-dollar freight spend.
Strong analytical capability; comfortable working with complex data.
Experience partnering with custom ERP systems and BI tools (PowerBI or equivalent).
Systems thinker who understands incentives, contracts, and behavior.
Calm, high-agency leader able to hold authority without escalation or drama.
Pragmatic curiosity about AI and automation (applied, not theoretical).

Responsibilities

Own freight economics, spend, and strategy across inbound/outbound networks.
Negotiate rates, structure contracts, and enforce performance.
Identify and remove hidden cost drivers and inefficiencies.
Optimize mode selection and freight flows for cost and service.
Own damage economics and claims processes end-to-end.
Define freight KPIs and build dashboards with analytics.
Ensure freight processes are correctly represented in ERP workflows.
Drive AI-assisted workflows for rate anomalies, carrier scoring, and risk analysis.
Partner with Warehouse, Analytics, and Finance leadership.
