Job summary

Uber Freight is seeking a Lead Logistics Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize complex freight networks at scale, merging data, technology, and operations to support strategic decisions.

You will work with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Leadership to improve efficiency, service, and profitability, using SQL, Python, and BI tools to deliver scalable solutions.

This role requires strong freight economics knowledge and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or supply chain with network design.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel (complex formulas, scenario modeling).
• Experience building dashboards and operational metrics in Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with databases, ETL workflows, and large-scale datasets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize freight routing, capacity utilization, and cost structures across transportation networks.
• Develop repeatable analytical frameworks and dashboards to monitor network performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Leadership to drive efficiency and profitability.
• Communicate insights clearly through visuals and written documentation.
