Scion Nonprofit Staffing is seeking an Assistant Director of Development for a Houston-based nonprofit. The role leads a fundraising team, drives foundation and institutional giving, and grows donor engagement with a portfolio of funders.

The ideal candidate has proven nonprofit fundraising leadership, strong grant writing skills, and the ability to secure six-figure gifts. This hybrid role offers onsite and remote work with a focus on housing stability and community impact.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated nonprofit fundraising experience with foundation/institutional giving.
• Strong grant writing, donor cultivation, and relationship-management skills.
• Proven people-management experience and goal accountability.
• Proficiency with donor databases and MS Office; Salesforce preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising strategies, donor pipelines, forecasts and reporting.
• Manage relationships with 75+ foundation and organizational funders.
• Lead foundation and grant fundraising, including proposals and reports.
• Directly manage and develop a team of five fundraising professionals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on funding strategies and compliance.
• Represent the organization at events and community engagement activities.
