Job summary

Scion Nonprofit Staffing is seeking an Assistant Director of Development for a mission-driven nonprofit in the Houston area. This hybrid role combines strategic leadership with hands-on fundraising to drive foundation and institutional giving, managing a portfolio of funders and leading a team of five fundraising professionals.

You will work closely with leadership to increase revenue and donor engagement while supporting housing stability and community impact.

Qualifications

• Nonprofit fundraising experience with foundation/institutional giving.
• Proven ability to secure six-figure gifts.
• Experience leading and developing fundraising teams.
• Strong grant writing, storytelling and donor communications.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and donor databases; strong MS Office/Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies, donor pipelines, forecasts, and performance reporting.
• Manage relationships with a portfolio of 75+ foundation and organizational funders.
• Lead foundation and grant fundraising including proposals, reports and communications.
• Directly manage and develop a team of five fundraising professionals with KPIs and coaching.
• Represent the organization to donors, volunteers and partners at events and site activities.
