Job summary

Bauer Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations (Forged Metals) to lead all forge operations in the Huntsville area.

The role demands strategic oversight of production schedules, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments in a union environment. The candidate will partner with Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to meet customer commitments, optimize equipment reliability, and drive Lean and Six Sigma projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business.
• At least seven years of Manufacturing leadership experience within forging, metal forming, or heavy industrial environment.
• Minimum three years of Management experience leading multiple departments, in a Union environment.
• Experience with Forging operations, Machining processes, Heat treatment operations, Production scheduling and workflow management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across all forge operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Promote and maintain a culture of safety throughout the facility. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
• Partner with Quality personnel to ensure products meet customer specifications and internal standards.
• Support labor relations activities and administer policies consistent with collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Work closely with Production Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet customer commitments.
