Job summary

Instructure seeks a Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to own complex accounting, guide transactions, and lead external reporting. You will manage the Equity function, oversee audits, and drive process improvements in financial reporting across the organization.

The role requires deep technical accounting knowledge, ASC 805, stock-based compensation, and SOX controls, plus experience with debt and equity transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Active CPA license or equivalent certification.
• 10+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience.
• Deep technical accounting expertise with US GAAP, including ASC 805 and stock-based compensation.
• Ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on technical accounting and guidance on complex transactions.
• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting conclusions for non-standard transactions.
• Own Purchase Price Accounting for current and future M&A transactions.
• Manage the financial reporting process to ensure US GAAP compliance and reporting requirements.
• Prepare and own annual audited financial statements and footnotes; assist with annual audits.
• Oversee end-to-end financial reporting for GAAPs and debt covenant reporting; support board packages.
• Own all accounting related to debt, including monthly entries and debt transactions.
