Job summary

Instructure, Inc. seeks a Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to own complex accounting and external reporting.

You will oversee technical accounting, manage the Equity function, and coordinate with auditors on annual financial statements. Requirements include 10+ years of public accounting and industry experience, a CPA, deep US GAAP knowledge (ASC 805, stock-based compensation), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, ASC 805, stock-based compensation.
• Proven ability to research, analyze and document complex issues.
• Experience with SOX controls and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Own technical accounting guidance for complex transactions and new initiatives.
• Lead external reporting and manage the Equity function with one direct report.
• Oversee Purchase Price Accounting for M&A transactions.
• Manage US GAAP financial reporting and footnotes, liaising with auditors.
• Prepare annual audited financial statements and board materials.
• Oversee quarterly debt covenant reporting and monthly board packages.
• Handle debt accounting from structuring to ongoing measurement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting implications.
• Lead Maximor implementation contributions to automate reporting.
