Job summary

ForceBrands is seeking a Head of Finance to build and lead the finance function for a rapidly growing, better-for-you food brand. You will own accounting, controls, cash flow, and strategic partnering with the CEO to drive expansion across national retail.

You will manage month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting while shaping FP&A, systems, and finance team growth. This is a hands-on leadership role with remote flexibility in the US.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in accounting/finance, preferably within food/CPG.
• Hands-on finance leader with startup/high-growth experience.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
• Experience with trade spend, inventory, and COGS.

Responsibilities

• Own all accounting and finance operations, including A/P, A/R, GL, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Build and implement financial controls, processes, and reporting systems to support growth.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and working capital requirements.
• Oversee cost accounting, COGS, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis across SKUs, channels, and retailers.
• Support fundraising, financial modeling, banking relationships, and financing initiatives.
• Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology such as ERP platforms.
• Ensure tax compliance and build out the finance team as the business scales.

With national retail distribution and ambitious expansion plans, the company is looking for a hands-on finance leader who can establish financial processes, manage day-to-day accounting, and partner directly with the CEO on strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own all accounting and finance operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Build and implement financial controls, accounting processes, and reporting systems to support growth.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and working capital requirements.
• Oversee cost accounting, COGS, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis across SKUs, channels, and retailers.
• Manage trade spend accruals, deductions, and promotional expenses.
• Prepare financial statements, budget variance analyses, and board/investor reporting.
• Support fundraising, financial modeling, banking relationships, and financing initiatives.
• Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology, including ERP and accounting platforms.
• Ensure tax compliance and build out the finance team as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably within food, beverage, or CPG.
• Experience building or leading a finance function in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Strong hands-on accounting background, including financial close, reporting, and internal controls.
• Understanding of CPG financial operations, including trade spend, deductions, inventory, and co-manufacturing costs.
• Experience with cash flow management, financial modeling, and budgeting.
• Ability to balance strategic financial leadership with day-to-day execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
• Experience with fundraising, investor reporting, ERP implementation, or cross-border operations is a plus.
