Are you an emerging finance leader ready to sit at the center of a high-growth consumer brand? Our client is looking for a Director of Finance to become the CFO’s right hand and the financial engine behind some of the most important decisions the business makes. This is not a back-office role, it’s a seat at the table, and a chance to shape the direction of a brand that is moving fast and thinking big. This role is onsite 5 days a week in West LA.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Planning Cycle: Lead the full annual budgeting process and rolling forecast cadence from end to end, building a planning function that is rigorous, forward-looking, and trusted across the organization.
- Be the CFO’s Strategic Partner: Work closely with the CFO on the financial story of the business, from board presentations and investor materials to strategic planning and capital allocation decisions.
- Elevate Financial Reporting: Deliver best-in-class monthly reporting packages and variance analyses that go beyond the numbers, telling a clear, compelling story that drives action at the executive level.
- Build the Models That Drive Decisions: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models including scenario analyses, sensitivity frameworks, and long-range plans that give leadership the confidence to make bold moves.
- Partner Across the Business: Serve as the go-to finance resource for commercial, marketing, supply chain, and operations leaders, helping them understand their numbers and make smarter, faster decisions.
- Drive KPI Development & Performance Management: Define, track, and communicate the metrics that matter most, building the infrastructure that keeps the entire organization aligned and accountable to its goals.
- Build & Lead a High-Performing Team: Attract, develop, and inspire a team of FP&A professionals, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, business acumen, and collaborative spirit.
- Champion Process & Systems Innovation: Continuously raise the bar on how the FP&A function operates, streamlining tools, automating workflows, and building scalable infrastructure that keeps pace with the growth of the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Consumer brand, retail, or CPG experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional financial modeling capabilities and advanced Excel skills. Strong command of FP&A platforms and ERP systems. A track record of building reporting infrastructure and driving process improvement in high-growth environments.
- What Sets You Apart: A rare combination of analytical depth and business instinct, someone who can build a complex model and then walk into a room of executives and tell the story behind it with clarity and conviction.
