Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication seeks a Director of Facilities Operations, Planning, and Projects to lead facilities operations, maintenance, and capital projects. This senior role coordinates across university departments, vendors, and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant facilities supporting research and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7–10 years of facilities operations experience in a university or public-serving environment.
• Professional licensure or certification (RA/PE/CEFP/PMP/FMP/CFM) preferred.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize deliverables, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and managing capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities operations, maintenance, and security to ensure a well-maintained physical plant.
• Lead space planning, office/classroom/configuration changes, and building renovations.
• Manage capital project scopes, budgets, and feasibility analyses; liaise with architects and engineers.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for repairs, services, and project delivery.
• Prepare materials for leadership, advisory boards, and donors; monitor compliance and safety.
