Job summary

Babson College in Massachusetts is seeking a Director of Operations to supervise daily operations for buildings, grounds, and site infrastructure. You will oversee maintenance, services, fleet, and events support while partnering with campus leaders on capital planning and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and the ability to coordinate resources with campus partners to deliver reliable, safe facilities and exceptional service for events and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or a related field.
• 10+ years in facilities operations/management with 5+ years leading staff and budgets.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks and special projects.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Superior leadership and management skills.
• Ability to work well in a team/community environment, preferably in higher education.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations for buildings, grounds, and site infrastructure; ensures service expectations are met.
• Supports budget planning and resource alignment across facilities operations.
• Monitors budgets and identifies cost savings while maintaining service levels.
• Oversees service response and coordinates trades personnel and contracted services.
• Supports professional development for operations staff and energy conservation planning.
• Collaborates with capital projects to advise on maintenance-friendly designs.
