Job summary

Babson College is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee daily operations for buildings, grounds, and site infrastructure. You will manage maintenance, building services, grounds, fleet, service response, and events support, while partnering with campus stakeholders and vendors.

You will assist with operating and capital budgets, drive continuous improvement, ensure safety, compliance, and efficient facilities performance across the campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in custodial/grounds/facilities management.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible facilities operations or facilities management, plus 5 years of managing staff and budgets.
• Strong leadership, communications, and team-oriented mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations for buildings, grounds, and site infrastructure, including maintenance, services, fleets, and events support.
• Ensures service expectations are met or exceeded.
• Supports annual operating and capital budgets for Facilities Operations units and utilities.
• Provides budget updates, prioritizes resources, and aligns with department needs.
• Monitors budgets to optimize performance and control costs.
• Oversees service response and coordination of trades and contracted services.
• Supports professional development for operations staff and participates in energy conservation planning.
• Collaborates with capital projects to ensure standards and durable design.
