Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING seeks a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Compliance to lead the department, manage staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant reporting for real estate, transactions, and regulatory projects.

The role requires deep knowledge of federal/state environmental regulations, ESAs, and diligence/permits, with a focus on client satisfaction and growth. On-site leadership in Athens, GA, with strategic oversight across sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical and/or environmental consulting with leadership and project management.
• 3+ years of team leadership or management experience in a consulting or corporate environment.
• Professional registration (PE, PG, CHMM, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Advanced understanding of federal and state environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA).
• Strong project management, organizational, and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Services Department focused on due diligence and compliance service lines.
• Supervise and mentor a team of environmental professionals across projects.
• Oversee workload allocation, training, performance reviews, and hiring.
• Promote technical excellence and ongoing professional development.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate, defensible reports to clients and attorneys.
• Oversee permits and reports including SPCC, air, water, and waste permits.
