Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Manager, Project Controls to lead enterprise project controls for a large portfolio of municipal, industrial, and federal projects. The role drives governance, systems, analytics, and talent to deliver projects safely, profitably, and predictably.

The ideal leader has deep AEC project controls experience, including integrated design-build, with a track record of digital transformation, automation, and AI-enabled forecasting across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise project controls strategy, standards, methodologies, and governance; drive adoption.
• Establish project controls for design-build, progressive design-build, CMAR, and other delivery models.
• Strengthen budgeting, earned value management, forecasting, variance analysis, and scheduling.
• Develop leading indicators, project health reviews, and executive dashboards for margin, backlog, cash flow, and delivery risk.
• Lead modernization of project controls platforms, data, and workflows; promote automation and AI-enabled forecasting.
• Establish scalable standards for document management, configuration control, and data quality.
• Collaborate with leadership and teams to improve predictability, profitability, and client outcomes.
• Lead talent development and build a high-performing enterprise controls team.
