Job summary

PGIM Real Estate Technology seeks a Vice President and Principal Engineer to lead strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise data, AI, and application platforms from our Newark hybrid office. You will be a hands-on leader, guiding data engineering teams and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, trusted solutions.

This role requires deep technical expertise in modern data systems, cloud architectures, and security, with a track record of delivering high-throughput

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of technology leadership experience.
• 5+ years leading data engineering or software teams.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise applications including the unified data platform and data access layer.
• Build the AI foundation enabling natural language queries, chatbot experiences, and RAG-based capabilities across data.
• Design and govern architecture for scalability, performance, security, and enterprise alignment.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate priorities into technology solutions delivering measurable business value.
• Mentor and grow a team of engineers and architects, fostering accountability and delivery excellence.
• Drive data governance and AI readiness in collaboration with technology councils and enterprise architecture.
• Own the enterprise application roadmap for PGIM Real Estate, aligning investments with modernization goals.
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including SOW oversight and cost optimization.
