Job summary

University of New England in Portland, ME seeks a Director of Enterprise Applications to lead the strategy and operations of the university's ERP, SIS, LMS, CRM, EHR, and related systems. This on-site role reports to the VP/CIO and collaborates with campus partners to deliver secure, high-performing platforms that support students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive enterprise application or IT systems leadership experience.
• Hands‑on experience supporting ERP, SIS, LMS, CRM, or EHR systems.
• Experience with system integrations and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (FERPA, HIPAA).
• Experience managing vendors and enterprise software contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, governance, and roadmap development for the enterprise application portfolio.
• Oversee application lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, and release management.
• Establish standards, documentation, and change control for platform administration.
• Partner with institutional leaders to define priorities, success measures, and system value.
• Serve as senior technical authority for mission-critical platforms.
• Oversee system administration, security configuration, and performance optimization.
• Ensure applications remain current and aligned with vendor/institutional standards.
