Good co India is seeking an experienced engineering leader to define the strategy and roadmap across software development, platform engineering, cloud, and DevOps. You will lead multiple teams, drive architecture standards, and ensure high-quality, scalable delivery that aligns with business goals.

The role demands strong technical vision, collaboration with product and security teams, and a track record of mentoring engineers while optimizing resources and processes.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, or related technology roles, with substantial technical leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, databases, and scalable application development.
• Hands-on experience with modern development technologies, programming languages, frameworks, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams, managing delivery commitments, mentoring engineers, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code, containerization, and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of application security, performance optimization, reliability engineering, observability, and production operations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps, architecture decisions, and executable engineering plans.
• Experience managing project priorities, engineering capacity, delivery risks, technical debt, and resource allocation.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining engineering talent while establishing effective performance evaluation and feedback processes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, product development lifecycles, quality assurance, and continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical guidance with people management, strategic planning, and operational accountability.
• A track record of delivering reliable software products, improving engineering productivity, and demonstrating measurable business outcomes.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations, managing budgets, and reporting to executive leadership is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy and technology roadmap in alignment with the organization's business objectives.
• Lead and manage engineering teams across software development, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and QA.
• Oversee design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure software systems.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, coding guidelines, and best practices across teams.
• Drive end-to-end product and platform delivery, ensuring quality, reliability, security, and timely execution.
• Collaborate with product management, business leadership, data science, security, and operations to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Build and scale high-performing engineering teams through recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
• Define engineering KPIs, delivery metrics, productivity measures, and operational goals.
• Drive cloud adoption, DevOps automation, CI/CD improvements, platform modernization, and infrastructure scalability.
• Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, technology investments, and vendor relationships.
• Establish practices for application security, reliability engineering, incident management, disaster recovery, and risk mitigation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches to improve development efficiency and product capabilities.
• Identify and reduce technical debt while balancing innovation and delivery speed.
• Lead cross-functional technical discussions, architecture reviews, and incident resolution.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Communicate progress, risks, resources, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
