You will establish processes for planning cadences, code reviews, on-call readiness, and performance reviews, balancing ambitious growth with execution speed in a manufacturing-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering.
• 10+ years in engineering leadership.
• Direct experience running an engineering organization through growth.
• Proven track record of hiring and mentoring engineering managers.
• Domain expertise in manufacturing, logistics, e-commerce or other 'physical world' businesses.
• Strong technical foundation and fast decision-making with incomplete information.
• Ability to establish process and structure without hindering speed.
• Experience scaling culture across in-person and remote teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technical field.

Responsibilities

• Scale the engineering organization from 16 engineers to many times that.
• Recruit and retain top-tier engineers in Reno headquarters and remote locations.
• Develop leadership and operating processes for larger-scale engineering, including reviews and planning cadence.
• Collaborate with CEO and product, operations, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality software.
• Own feature delivery predictability with clear commitments and visible progress.
• Partner with senior engineers on architecture and technical direction.
• Ensure systems support many teams working in parallel.
• Make frequent trips to Reno HQ to work on the floor and ship parts.
• Interact with production floor employees and supervisors as needed.
