Job summary

LendingTree is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead a multi-team engineering organization responsible for our consumer-facing products and the platforms behind them. You'll own the engineering strategy, guide architecture and delivery across your portfolio, and you'll be accountable for the technical health, velocity, and reliability of everything your teams ship.

This is a broad, highly cross-functional leadership role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong architectural judgment across distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience shipping AI/ML features into production and platform work behind them.
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams, manage managers, and drive delivery.
• Excellent collaboration with Product, Design, Data Science and Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-team engineering organization; own the roadmap and delivery.
• Set technical direction, standards, testing, observability, and reliability.
• Balance feature delivery with platform stability and debt management.
• Define and track technical and experience metrics (uptime, latency, NPS).
• Own AI strategy for embedding AI into customer experiences and platforms.
• Partner with Product and Data Science to move AI features to production.
• Own logged-in customer experience and integrations with partners.
• Hire, coach, and develop engineering managers and engineers.
• Represent engineering in planning, budgeting, and risk communication.
