The Role:

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to own and deliver the backend foundation of our MVP. You’ll be responsible for architecting and implementing core services in Rust, integrating decentralized and cloud storage, and ensuring the system is performant, secure, and production-ready. You’ll collaborate with the founder and a UI contractor to bring the product to life.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and build the MVP backend (Rust-based)

• Implement secure data pipelines and API services

• Integrate with decentralized and cloud storage systems

• Define key backend services and data flow for the MVP

• Collaborate with a frontend contractor to ensure seamless interaction

• Ship a working demo for investors, fast

Tech Environment:

• Languages: Rust (primary), TypeScript (optional for full-stack collaboration)

• Security: Familiarity with advanced encryption standards a plus

• Have 5+ years building backend systems, ideally in Rust or Go

• Are fluent in cloud-native architecture and infrastructure

• Understand data security and cryptography fundamentals

• Have exposure to decentralized or blockchain-based storage

• Can collaborate with a frontend dev to define seamless data flow

• Love working in early-stage environments with autonomy and urgency

• Are based in the United States

Nice to Have:

• Experience in healthtech, scientific computing, or compliance-driven systems

• Familiarity with AI integrations or real-time data applications
