About the Role: We’re a stealth-mode, pre-seed SaaS startup on a mission to reshape enterprise risk and compliance through AI. We’re assembling a founding team passionate about building from first principles — focused on delivering intelligent, scalable, and secure systems for modern organizations. This is your chance to shape a platform from the ground up alongside experienced operators in cybersecurity, compliance, and AI.

Role Overview: We seek a highly driven, technical, and entrepreneurial Head of Engineering to join as part of the founding team. This is an equity-only role initially, ideal for someone who believes in the vision and is motivated to build from scratch. You will own the end-to-end technology stack and work closely with product leadership to turn vision into a scalable, reliable, and secure product.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead architecture, development, and deployment of the core platform
2. Build and manage a high-performing engineering team as the company grows
3. Implement scalable, secure backend systems (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Postgres Vector DB, Neo4j)
4. Integrate LLMs and AI models for intelligent risk and compliance management
5. Actively write code and contribute to the codebase daily
6. Ensure best practices for code quality, security, and compliance from day one
7. Collaborate with product, design, and domain experts to shape the product roadmap
8. Own technical decisions, infrastructure, and product scaling

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. 8+ years of engineering experience, including startup or early-stage product development
2. Deep backend expertise (Python preferred) with hands-on cloud architecture (AWS)
3. Experience with AI/ML integration and understanding of LLMs
4. Exposure to GRC, cybersecurity, or compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.) is a major plus
5. Passionate builder with a scrappy, ownership-driven mindset
6. Strong leadership and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally
7. Comfortable with ambiguity, risk, and rapid iteration
8. Experience with knowledge graphs (Neo4j)
9. Familiarity with secure SaaS architecture and DevSecOps principles
