Job summary

Lion Energy is seeking an Embedded Systems Manager in American Fork, UT to lead our embedded engineering team. You will own technical direction, oversee delivery across firmware, controls, and hardware, and mentor engineers while driving career growth.

The role balances hands-on technical oversight with people management, ensuring high-performance, scalable embedded systems and strong team development. Requires strong C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and hardware experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 6+ years in embedded software, controls, or hardware engineering.
• 2+ years in leadership or people management.
• Experience leading engineering teams and performance management.
• Strong background in embedded firmware (C/C++) and model-based control (MATLAB/Simulink).
• Knowledge of power electronics and energy storage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-disciplinary Embedded Software, MB Controls, and Hardware teams.
• Set technical direction and architecture standards for firmware and hardware.
• Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Drive project planning and resource allocation across programs.
• Collaborate with Product, PM, and Engineering leadership to align deliverables.
• Partner with Operations on PCB fabrication and manufacturability.
• Manage relationships with contract engineers and OEM partners.
• Guide firmware architecture and hardware integration decisions.
• Report progress and strategy to CTO and leadership.
• Stay current on embedded trends relevant to power electronics.
