Job summary

Lion Energy is seeking an Embedded Systems Manager to lead our embedded engineering team in developing next-generation energy storage and portable power solutions. This role combines hands-on technical oversight with people management to deliver reliable, scalable embedded systems while growing engineers' skills.

You will mentor a cross-disciplinary team of software, controls, and hardware engineers, define architecture standards, handle hiring and performance reviews, and ensure projects meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 6+ years in embedded software, controls, or hardware engineering.
• 2+ years in technical leadership or people management.
• Strong background in embedded firmware development (C/C++).
• Experience with power electronics and energy storage systems.
• Knowledge of MPPT and battery management concepts.
• Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet protocols.
• Experience working with Agile project management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-disciplinary Embedded Software, Controls, and Hardware team.
• Set technical direction and architecture standards for firmware, controls, and hardware.
• Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Drive project planning, resource allocation, and prioritization.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to align with roadmaps.
• Coordinate with Operations on PCB fabrication and manufacturability.
