Job summary
Schneider Electric is seeking an Embedded Software & Controls Leader to drive the next generation of intelligent edge controllers and software-defined platforms. You will lead a global team, partner with hardware, cloud, and product teams, and evolve edge architectures from prototyping to industrial scale.
The role demands deep embedded systems knowledge, hands-on leadership, and experience with RTOS/Linux, edge AI, and field protocols.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in engineering management & leading embedded/FW/HW teams.
- Hands-on experience architecting embedded/control products and debugging complex systems.
- Deep understanding of RTOS platforms and embedded Linux.
- Experience with BACnet/Modbus or related field/building automation tech.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Embedded SW/Control platform organization and engineers.
- Define software architecture and tech roadmap for edge controllers and software-defined hardware.
- Collaborate with HW, cloud, app software, product management and architecture teams.
- Drive product development from concept through industrialization and scale.
- Institute CI/CD, automated testing, cybersecurity, reliability & observability practices.
- Guide edge platforms across RTOS and Linux-based architectures; balance performance and security.
- Advance edge-to-cloud edge-to-cloud platforms using BACnet/Modbus protocols and IoT stacks.
- Ensure lifecycle management from architecture to sustainment and EoL.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, manufacturing, sales.
- Support transition of new products while maintaining installed-base reliability.
