Head of Demand Generation
About Gurucul
Security teams today are trying to keep watch over a world that keeps expanding, with machines and AI agents multiplying faster than anyone can hire analysts to watch them, and the attacks aimed at that world move faster every year than most tools were ever built to catch. Gurucul’s mission comes out of that gap: give defenders a system that sees a threat the moment it starts forming, whether it comes from a person, a machine, or an AI agent, so a risk climbing quietly over days turns into something an organization can act on long before anything is lost.
Building that takes fusing behavioral models with deterministic detections and a real‑time graph that connects signals analysts would otherwise have to piece together by hand, and it means working alongside people who have spent a decade refining behavioral analytics nobody else in the industry has matched, solving problems that show up in production at Fortune 500 companies, Global 5000 enterprises, and governments who are counting on getting ahead of what’s coming for them.
That work has already earned Gurucul recognition as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM and as Overall Leader in KuppingerCole’s Intelligent SIEM Leadership Compass, the kind of validation that comes from actually cutting data costs, false positives, and response times at scale rather than just claiming to.
If spending your career on something that actually changes how fast defenders can see and respond to what’s coming sounds like the kind of work you want, this is the team doing it, and we’re hiring.
Role Summary
Gurucul is looking for a Head of Demand Generation who will own digital demand end to end and be accountable for the marketing‑sourced pipeline that our sales team works on every quarter. You will run every paid and owned digital channel we use to reach security buyers, including LinkedIn and Google Ads, paid social, programmatic and content syndication, email nurture, and our webinar program, and you will be measured on the qualified pipeline and revenue those channels produce.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who still enjoys getting into the ad accounts, rewriting a nurture sequence when the numbers slip, and sitting with sales leaders to work out why a segment is converting the way it is. You will partner closely with our Field Marketing and Events team, who run in‑person programs, so that digital and field efforts reinforce each other across the same target accounts and the same quarterly pipeline goals.
The right person has built demand engines in B2B cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS before, understands how long and complex security buying cycles actually work, and wants the ownership that comes with building and scaling this function at a company that is growing quickly in SIEM, UEBA, and AI‑driven security operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the digital demand generation strategy and plan, along with the marketing‑sourced pipeline targets that come with it, working from revenue goals back to the MQL, SQL, and opportunity volumes each channel needs to deliver.
- Run paid media end to end on LinkedIn, Google Search and Display, and other paid social and programmatic channels, including audience strategy, budget allocation, bidding, creative testing, and weekly optimization against cost per opportunity and pipeline.
- Build and manage account‑based programs for our named enterprise accounts, using intent data and ABM platforms to focus spend on the accounts that sales actually cares about.
- Lead email marketing across nurture tracks, product and event promotion, and lifecycle programs, with clear segmentation by persona, industry, and buying stage.
- Own the webinar program from topic selection and speaker lineup through promotion, live execution, and follow‑up, so that every webinar produces measurable pipeline and reusable content.
- Manage content syndication, review site, and third‑party lead generation partners, holding each vendor to clear standards for lead quality, acceptance by sales, and conversion to opportunity.
- Work with product marketing and content to turn launches, research, and analyst recognition into campaigns that move buyers forward.
- Partner with the Field Marketing and Events lead on shared target accounts, regional pipeline goals, and pre‑and post‑event digital campaigns.
- Work closely with sales and BDR leadership on lead definitions, routing, service level agreements, and follow‑up, and run a regular pipeline review that both teams trust.
- Oversee marketing operations for demand gen, including the marketing automation platform, CRM integration, lead scoring, attribution, and reporting, whether that work sits on your team or with a partner.
- Report clearly to the CMO and executive team on pipeline contribution, channel ROI, opportunity cost, and forecast, and reallocate budget quickly when a channel underperforms.
- Hire, develop, and lead a team of demand gen specialists comprising of agents agencies and contractors, as the function grows.
Required Qualification
- 10+ years in B2B marketing, with at least 5 years leading demand generation for enterprise software, ideally in cybersecurity, SIEM, identity, or a closely related technical market.
- A track record of owning a marketing‑sourced pipeline number and hitting it, and the ability to walk us through how you built that pipeline channel by channel.
- Deep hands‑on experience running LinkedIn Ads and Google Ads at meaningful budgets, along with paid social, programmatic, and content syndication.
- Strong command of marketing automation and CRM, such as HubSpot and Salesforce, and comfort with attribution, funnel analytics, and building your own reports.
- Experience running ABM and intent‑driven programs for enterprise and large mid‑market buyers in the most effective way.
- A history of running webinar and email programs that produced pipeline you could point to in the CRM.
- Experience hiring and leading a team, and managing agents, agencies and vendors with clear expectations and accountability.
- A good working relationship with sales, built on shared definitions, shared numbers, and honest conversations when things are off track.
- Comfort working remotely across time zones with a global team, and the judgment to make budget decisions quickly with the data you have.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience marketing to CISOs, SOC leaders, insider risk teams, and security architects.
- Experience at a growth‑stage company scaling from early traction to a repeatable demand engine.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted campaign tools and workflows for creative, personalization, analysis and automation.
Compensation & Benefits
- The base salary range for US‑based candidates is $175,000 – $200,000 per year, plus bonus tied to KPIs and performance. Where a candidate lands depends on experience, skills, and location, and compensation for candidates outside the United States will be set based on local market rates.
