SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's SSRL seeks a Head of Data, Compute, Automation, and AI to lead a facility-wide program supporting operations and research across experimental stations and accelerator systems.

The role requires building and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, delivering shared data and workflow solutions, and coordinating with SSRL directors and DOE initiatives such as ASCR to enhance data usability and real-time feedback during experiments.

Qualificações

• Advanced degree in a relevant field (Master's, PhD preferred).
• Experience leading technical teams and delivering complex projects in science or data-intensive environments.
• Ability to operate at the interface of experimental workflows and computing infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate facility-wide data, compute, automation, and workflow integration initiatives.
• Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team across data architecture, software engineering, controls/automation, and compute integration.
• Develop and deploy shared solutions for metadata capture, data organization, and workflow orchestration for experiments and accelerator use cases.
• Align SSRL priorities with division leadership and broader DOE computing initiatives such as ASCR and national platforms.
