Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a Deputy Associate Lab Director for Operations (DALD/Ops) for SSRL to lead disciplined operations, set strategic vision, and partner with Stanford, DOE, and external entities. You will oversee directorate-wide initiatives and ensure alignment with safety, quality and mission goals.

The role requires senior leadership experience, strong program management, and the ability to coordinate across site-wide activities and committees.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and ten years of relevant experience in a senior operations or management role.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary programs and to align operations with strategic goals.
Experience collaborating with university leadership, DOE, and external partners.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction for a major function or center; set long-range direction and governance.
Direct and oversee the overall scientific, engineering or technical research function for SSRL.
Identify, clarify, and resolve highly complex issues with university-wide impact.
Ensure facilities are funded, staffed, equipped, and properly housed for operations.
Manage budgets, personnel, and facilities resources across the directorate.
Lead high-level programs through design, development, integration and outreach.
