Job summary

Fidelity is seeking an experienced data architecture leader to guide a team of data architects within the Asset Management Technology group. You will define strategic data architecture, establish governance, and partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate complex needs into actionable roadmaps.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, deliver enterprise-scale data platforms, and ensure security, scalability, and observability across Research, Portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; master's or MBA preferred.
• 5 years leading, mentoring, and developing technical teams with track record of building high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to mentor architects and senior engineers toward staff/principal levels.
• Executive-level communication to senior audiences, translating tech concepts to business terms.
• Expert proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and modern data languages (Python, Scala, Java).
• Deep experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Databricks and cloud services (AWS).
• Experience with DataOps, CD/CI for data, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), data quality, lineage, observability.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize data architecture strategy across Asset Management Technology, aligning with business goals.
• Lead governance and standards for data platforms, enabling scalable, secure, AI-ready solutions.
• Drive cross-functional data initiatives with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Build high-performing data architecture teams through hiring, onboarding, and career growth.
• Architect and deliver high-impact data platform solutions and prototypes with hands-on contributions.
• Design data platforms with ETL/ELT, data access layers, and polyglot persistence for transactional, operational, and analytical workloads.
• Establish reference architectures and accelerators to speed up delivery while ensuring security and observability.
• Lead deep dives and reviews to ensure non-functional requirements are met.
