Job summary

S&P Dow Jones Indices, a division of S&P Global, seeks a senior engineering leader to scale a 100+ strong team of data and ML engineers, guiding enterprise lakehouse architecture on Databricks and AWS. The role drives autonomous AI pipelines and production-grade systems with governance and security at the core.

The successful candidate will establish engineering standards, manage talent, and partner with Product, FinOps, and executives to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 15+ years engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership managing large teams
• Deep expertise with Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and Unity Catalog
• Extensive AWS data platform experience (S3, Glue, EMR, Lake Formation)
• Proven ability to scale engineering orgs from 20+ to 100+ engineers
• Strong ability to translate technical trade-offs to executives with data-driven ROI

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale an engineering org of 100+ data engineers and staff engineers
• Provide strategic direction for enterprise-scale lakehouse architecture on Databricks and AWS
• Advance autonomous AI systems using Databricks AI stack and Model Serving
• Set engineering standards, SLOs, incident management, and IaC practices
• Oversee semantic modeling, RAG architecture, and data governance with Unity Catalog
• Foster high-performance culture and align roadmaps with business goals
