Job summary

Willbanks Metals Inc. seeks a hands-on leader for the Cut-to-Length / Decoiling Department to own safety, staffing, scheduling, throughput and continuous improvement.

You will translate business priorities into daily execution, develop a capable team, and communicate with shop-floor and senior leaders including the VP of Operations. Responsibilities include running day-to-day operations, planning staffing, forecasting labor, coaching staff, and driving bottleneck resolution with maintenance,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of production management or operations leadership experience in metals or similar industrial environment.
• Proven experience leading production teams with accountability for labor planning and scheduling.
• Strong knowledge of cut-to-length/decoiling operations, material handling, and production flow management.
• Excellent communication with frontline employees, peers, and executives.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and production reporting tools; KPI management.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations for the cut-to-length/decoiling department with ownership for safety, quality, throughput, productivity, and on-time execution.
• Manage staffing plans, shift coverage, and labor allocation to meet production demand.
• Forecast labor requirements and support hiring, onboarding, and cross-training plans.
• Coach and develop staff, uphold safety and performance standards, and foster continuous improvement.
• Identify bottlenecks, collaborate with maintenance/quality to improve uptime and material flow.
• Communicate performance and risks to senior leadership and translate strategy into frontline actions.
