Job summary

Sphere Labs is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to build and lead our global compliance program in a fast-paced crypto-native environment.

The role partners with Product, Ops, and Risk to embed compliance into day-to-day operations, write SOPs, and scale the program across multiple jurisdictions. You will oversee onboarding, investigations, SAR filings, and cross-functional collaboration while mentoring the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building or maturing a compliance program in crypto/fintech or financial services.
• Experience managing a compliance program at scale with multi-layer onboarding flows.
• Strong AML/KYC/KYB expertise and regulatory requirements knowledge.
• Hands-on with transaction monitoring systems and SAR filings.
• Crypto-native understanding of digital assets and blockchain challenges.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and mature the existing compliance program and scale it across the business.
• Write clear, auditable SOPs translating policy into day-to-day practice.
• Partner with Product and Ops to define compliance requirements for new initiatives.
• Oversee daily compliance operations and ensure policy adherence and regulatory compliance.
• Lead investigations, SAR filings, and coordinate with law enforcement when needed.
• Mentor junior team members and build a strong compliance capability.
