Job summary

Sphere Labs is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to build and lead a crypto-native compliance program. The role partners with Product and Ops to embed guardrails, SOPs, and scalable processes across onboarding, monitoring, and regulatory responses.

You will mentor staff and drive cross-functional alignment with Risk, Product, Ops, and Sales to ensure compliant growth. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AML/KYC/KYB, investigations, SARs, and deep regulatory knowledge in the

Qualifications

• Proven experience building or maturing a compliance program in crypto/fintech/financial services.
• Deep knowledge of AML, KYC, KYB frameworks and regulations.
• Experience with investigations and filing SARs.
• Hands-on SOP development and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ability to design guardrails for new business lines and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Build and mature the compliance program across the business.
• Write clear SOPs translating policy into repeatable, auditable practices.
• Partner with Product and Ops on new initiatives with compliance requirements.
• Own day-to-day compliance operations and risk-based decisions.
• Lead investigations, SAR filings, and regulatory responses.
• Collaborate with Risk, Product, Ops, and Sales to align on systems and alerts.
• Support law enforcement requests and customer onboarding from a compliance standpoint.
• Mentor junior team members and develop compliance talent.
